Not sure if this is old news or not but here goes anyways....
I don't know if anyone realizes it but there were only a run of 36 of these beasts for the entire world (NAMM prototypes). Then they made a limited run of about 50-100 or so for public consumption. I've got #26 it has the swirled pickups (Namm prototype), any of the ones after #36 will have black pickups. Good luck everyone, grab one if you can get one, cause the price will be jacked like you would'nt believe in a few months. This one will indeed be the rare bird in a few years.
Heres more dirt I've heard through the Gakki grapevine;
The RGTHRG1 "H.R. Giger model" that is currently out now is a public run, wait till mid summer when they release the very limited J-Custom prestige version!! It will be a laquered print of H.R. Giger's work plus a custom designed H.R. Giger/J-Craft Custom Case. With a prestige neck(obviously) but it will have Humbucker, Single, Humbucker as the config. Ooola La Very sweet indeedy but price will be alongside the RG20051/BW, me thinks.
As well Ibanez will be re-releasing.... (drum roll)
The "JEM7DBK" and one other (I don't know yet) for 2006 and introducing 6-8 more RG's that are currently in the Gakki J-Custom Catalogue nobody ever see's let alone knows about (check out scans for 2006 from the Gakki site).
Including an 8-String!!! (that's all he said to me about the 8 string -damn!!).
Thats all I've heard, but its quite accurate considering how high up the food chain one of the guys I know who works at Gakki is. Tootles,
Hopefully we'll see these models and more?
