New Ibanez Prestige Models

Did anyone else notice this? No new prestige RGs with the EZ trem? ...bummer =( The only new Prestige model with the EZ trem is the RGD 7. I know many prefer the OE and lo pro but there are still some folks out there like me who prefer the EZ so you'd think they would offer it on at least one or two RG or S models. I do think the Koa models look nice

Re: New Ibanez Prestige Models

I love that green one with the maple neck. Really love it but with a 17mm thickness at the first fret, my hands would be cramping pretty much playing that.

If you want an EZ equipped guitar, go through Ishibashi, Kurosawa, or any Japanese guitar shop that sells overseas. Japan still has EZ with ZPS guitars. We aren't getting the 655s and Ibanez still thinks the EZ is the way to go outside the US. The new RG2XXX guitars all have EZ/ZPS with Dimarzio Tone zone, Air norton , true velvet pickups stock for about 140,000 yen.

Personally, I like the shape of the EZ, it's easy to palm mute and very comfortable, but I'd be lying if I told you that they held tuning as well as my OEs or Lo Pros.

Re: New Ibanez Prestige Models

Having played 2 RG655s, I would be quickly trying to justify Ibanez #5 if they were doing a FSO with a maple fretboard. Although the CBM is more appealing in person than I thought it would be.

Gear:
RG 2550 w/ evo2 breed neck
SZ520 paf pro neck stock bridge
RG920 Premium
Jem7V-WH
Marshall Haze 15

I wanted an FSO too, if it had a maple board... But, even better, I have an MIJ roadcore, which is a design I had been waiting for Ibanez to do an MIJ for. I have enough standard RG stuff (685, RGR580, 1550, 2550, 560, 560 may go bye bye soon), I want something different.

Awwww I love that 652AHM!!! What a beautiful finish and with that maple fretboard... m m m <3

I see they're not using the Edge Pro on these models either? I love EP - rock solid and really flat for comfortable palm muting. EZ is an innovative bridge and I like the ability to block the trem if need be by simply lowering the stop bar in the cavity. Nice Ibby

Yeah I kinda want an S prestige, or a 7 string at this point. 7-String S prestige maybe?

7 string S Prestige sounds great to me
if it has Dimarzio PAF7's or a Petrucci set, all the better.

Ditto... If I could snatch one off the S Series page it would be the dark green burst S5521Q!
