I don't mind the vines as much as I mind that damn EZ trem, but that's a whole other issue. I'm afraid the EZ is here to stay. Everyone (or most people) seems to love it.

Sadly, I have to agree. Until the professional guitar world jumps up and says "Hey, The OE is back!! I want it!!!" all were going to see is the EZ for a long time to come.

How does EZ compare to Edge Pro?

They're not "bad"... just different than what I like and am used to. It's totally personal preference for me, so I try not to bash them too often

I grew up playing original Edge, Lo-Pro Edge, and later... Edge Pro's. So, I've grown to prefer the action and feel of those. I picked up a 1527MZGW recently--my first Ibby with an EP/ZPS. I tried to like it, I really did, but after about 6 months had to sell it because I couldn't deal with the EP/ZPS (even with the ZPS bar removed). Great guitar otherwise.

You really have to play one and judge for yourself. I personally won't buy any of the newer models that have the EZ and ZPS system. Bummer, because I'd otherwise LOVE a J-Custom.

Ok. Well will have to try out that trem some time then. So they are not less quality just different feel to them, i guess that is what you're saying.

Tree of life on 7 strings looks a little poor compared to the 6 string ones, widening it would make it ugly. Maybe white neck binding would look good together with tree of life inlay

Both those guitars are stunning and will undoubtedly have unreal build quality and play/sound amazing which is the most important thing. I'd love to have the opportunity just to try one out. Beautiful....vine inlay and all!!!

Re: New J.Customs: JCRG20127 JCRG20126

So, without digging through archives, Have they just been changing the body wood & pickup configuration every 2 years? So next year would be Alder w/ DiMarzios...

I think they're great, beautiful guitars, but I would like to see them do something "wacky" like the Gear or Art again. Love that stuff.

Some of my dealers have been commenting that all of the manufacturers are only making Black, white, red, & burst guitars again....the new J Custom line up seems to reflect that. But that bright Orange Prestige makes up for it!!

Agreed, would love to see them do J Customs like those 1997 showcase models again but unfortunately that's never gonna happen.

Beautiful instruments. I'm fortunate enough to have 2 J Customs and am thankful that I bought them. Absolutely first class instruments in every way.

Love both trem units on them. Edge Zero maintains perfect tuning and has a good feel to it. I've setup my Edge Pro's on my Jems to be similar by using a couple of those ESP arming adjusters.

Re: New J.Customs: JCRG20127 JCRG20126

I don't like the EZ trems, either. I've played a bunch of them and I think they feel cheap, even on the expensive Ibanez guitars.... but, more importantly, I don't like the feel of them at all. Can someone please explain to me what the hell was so wrong with the Lo-Pro that they had to turn it into.... this?
