Re: New neon RGs - they're not popular enough

I definitely think this thread is premature. Most people don't know they're out yet. Not everybody trolls Jemsite and Ibanez forums. Those of use that do were told not to expect them till April. Some people might be waiting for their tax returns. There are all sorts of reasons why there are some available. Like for example some places getting them that weren't even advertising them, i.e. musicians friend . com, they didn't even have them available for preorder...now they have them in stock. Some of us have our preorders elsewhere that haven't got their shipments in yet. We could go on and on with reasons why you can find them right now. Lets give it some time, as they haven't officially been released yet (April being the release date). Neons rule!

Not sure, Andy. I'm hoping to pick up an RG7620 or an RG1527, something like that. I'd love a UV but it's slightly beyond my kinda price range. Champagne taste, lemonade pocket, unfortunately!

Re: New neon RGs - they're not popular enough

I put a deposit down on the DY one got it nearly 2 weeks ago
went back later same week and picked up the RFR one and now I'm going back for the black one. the guy at the shop haden't heard of them until I put my deposit down and they are the largest Ibanez dealer in Ontario. holding the black one for me, as they said they haven't advertised them up here at all. They ordered 6 sets but only ended up with one, and I got em all!!!
who knows if they will be worth anything down the road, all I know is that my '89 is still my main axe and the best playing guitar I've ever owned (although I haven;t owned this particualr one for that long, I have had my share of 550's in the past) in nearly 20 years of playing. Like many people I've been waiting for this for nearly 15 years and now, and now that I have 3 potentailly equal axes (as my original) thats all the comfort I need.

(Sigh) I was poking at the people who don't like neon. If you do like neons, then you're exempt from the poke. And lipstick or not, that's a bada$$ VM you got there, Racerevlon. That's the only color I'm missing to have the set. Doubt if I'll fine one as nice as yours, tho. Very sweet.

I think I'm gonna go harass the guy with the Giger again. That was a simpler argument... (in my best Triumph voice: I keed, I keed!)

What do you guys care if the Guitar is popular or not!!! I doubt that is the reason that would drive us Ibanez lover to buy one!!!

Re: New neon RGs - they're not popular enough

i would have to say half of it for me getting a pair of them is nostalgia and the other half is getting new versions of old faithful: you know it works like it should and has the capacity to be modded or hot rodded ten different ways from breakfast if you so wish.
i would still have taken a lochness green one if they were offered

Re: New neon RGs - they're not popular enough

yeah, i remember reading that when we were guessing what the RG20th and new 20th Jem were when they were still unknown before the leaks came out.
wouldn't the DY be a great candidate for a copy though ? it'd be hard to to deface a new limited model, but just saying.....
