New Old Guitar Day

I bought this 90 RG550 from a member here about 3 or 4 years ago. Sold it to another friend on here... long story short FedEx cracked the neck, not bad but still cracked and didn't cover it.

Guitar still played but I understood him returning it. So it sat for another year. I decided to take it in and have my guitar guy fix it. Came back perfect and you'd never know unless I told you or read this thread. lol

Anyway along with the neck fix added a ToneZone in the bridge and a PAF Pro in the neck. Now I remember why I love these guitars so much.

Not the greatest pic but thought I'd share.

I'm real glad to see you got her straightened out man. It was a definite bummer that Fed Ex broke it. I gotta say, the red pickups are a bold choice indeed!!

Glad it all turned out well. Got a picture of the repair?

I guess that would help.

After looking it over, it is noticeable, but only if you stare at it.

me too, he did a good job. Kinda glad you sent it back.

I chose red because I was going to add a red mirrored or clear pickguard, but not sure how it'd look red against the coral and $50+ with no returns, kinda hestitant.

Re: New Old Guitar Day

Very nice. Love the Coral Mist.
I have one, the crack in my neck was much worse than what yours looks like it was, but I got it sorted thanks to a tutorial on Rich's site.
Wasn't too hard to fix, to my surprise. (My uncle is a woodworker, he could have done it for me if I messed it up, and we only paid $175 for the guitar anyway. LOL)
It's become my favorite guitar, love the feel and the tone.
So nice that you brought it 'back from the dead'.
