New RG1570!

Just picked up a brand new RG1570MRB from a couple that got it as a wedding gift...it had never even been taken out of the case! picked it up for $500

So..my question is which Dimarzio pickups should I put in it. I play mostly Vai, Satriani style music. Thanks for the help!

A wedding gift?!?!? Maybe I should get divorced and remarried! The common answer for the pickups is Tone Zone and Air Norton set...

Nope the common answer would be put Satch or Vai pickups.
I use Evos in all my guitars and I play from clean to rectifier tones.
With Evos you have all bases covered expecially if you have only 1 guitar and you need versatility.

I said "common" not best. Sure, some folks will opt for a Vai or Satch pickup set, but most folks seem to be dumping a Tone Zone and Air Norton set into RGs--making those the "common" answer.

Congrats! Fantastic guitar and you won't be disappointed. I also use Evos in mine.

Which Evos? like the DP158, and DP159, or EVO2? I would probably be leaning more on the Vai side. I have the JEM 77V with the Breed pickups and the RG2550 with the IBZ's in it

Well it depends. If you want a full out screaming harmonic shred pickup, pick the evo. If you want still very screaming pickup but want to be able to roll back the volume and clean up your sound a bit, pick the evo 2.
