New RG350DXZ neck alignment

Dear colleageus,

Can a loosening the bolts and align the neck overcome this much ? The high E string is much closer the end of the fretboard than the low E string. Or will this have to have a neck pocket tweak ? It's a new guitar, so if it needs anything more than loosening the bolts and tweaking the neck a bit I will have to send it back.

With kind regards, Ray

In less than the time it took to type the question you could have tried to straighten the neck and you'd know.

There's no way to tell from the picture how much room the neck pocket has.

Re: New RG350DXZ neck alignment

You are right, Rich. I'm sorry. I am new to these guitars. I loosened the bolts, pulled the neck to where the alignment seemed good and tightened it again. The pocket had enough clearance. Problem solved. Excuse my ignorance. I was a bit scared to do it on a new guitar, because of maybe voiding the warranty. That is why I asked first. Thank you for your response Rich !

You can also try and loosen the locking nut and slide it over a bit. Not much room to slide it but may be enough to help.

Thank you very much for your reply Metalhead52.. It's fixed now. But I will keep your tip in mind for when I need it.

Re: New RG350DXZ neck alignment

NGD thread and proper introduction to the Ibanez family incoming soon. I've been reading up for a while in this forum and you guys seem a great bunch with a wealth of knowledge too. This is my first Ibanez and also my first guitar with a trem.

Impressive. Is there a noticeable gap on the high E side of the fretboard now?

The gap on both the low and high E to the edge of the fretboard is about the same now.

Re: New RG350DXZ neck alignment

The trem is hitting the volume knob. I literally have to lift the arm over the knob to get it past it.

- Finish flaw on top
- Really sharp fret ends
- Audible click in the trem arm and keeps coming loose
- ZPS isn't working like it should, I will have to mod the retainers
- Strange "knot" in the fretboard
- Neck alignment was WAY off
- Trem hitting the volume knob

Wow, Ibanez ! The cheap Harley Benton I once had even was better than this POS. Luckily the neck (other than the fretends) is in good shape and the guitar resonates quite nicely. So I guess the body and neck "like eachother" so to say. Sounds pretty good too. I will put in the work to make it a decent guitar.
