New X series guitars...thoughts??

I love the oddball shapes and some of the new models in the x series have peaked my interest...specifically the Halberd...i know the shape is out there but i love the wacky shapes, so keep that in mind before you flame me lol...but i kinda dig it...and for $399 it wouldnt break the bank to take that badboy for a whirl. I know that these arent Premium or Prestige models fellas so im well aware the level of quality to expect..My local guy has a flat black one that ive been meaning to give a serious test run..i picked it up when it first came in for like a minute and havent touched it since...i have to pick up my AS73 tomorrow (got new Dimarzio PAF 36th Anniv's installed...so stoked!!) and while there i'll give the Halberd a proper test drive. I know that the LZ actives are not for everyone..i did not care for them on my RGA8..but if i ended up getting it a swap to some passive Dimarzio's would be in order eventually...plus the few demos ive heard on the internet sounded pretty good.....shoot...at under $399 i may not be able to resist!! anyone have any solid reviews on these badboys..even though i have NO business buying another guitar but if i dig it ill put a lil deposit and let them hold it for me....talk to me Jemsters!!

If I had $400 burning a hole in my pocket I'd buy a Halberd.

I think they're pretty cool to, but if I were going to get a "different" kind of Ibby......I'd be looking pretty seriously at the DarkStones.....
That DN500 is one helluva nice looking guitar. The specs are nice too................

Re: New X series guitars...thoughts??

Bought the Halberd...well left another deposit...wait till my bonus clears and then i should be able to pick her up....I leave the deposit to hold her and lock in the price my guy gives me, which is way below retail..i couldnt resist at that price...any different Ibby shape and i cant say no lol...

Anyway i just picked up my AS73 today with the fresh set of Dimarzio PAF 36th Anniv's (sounds AMAZING!!) and i gave the Halberd a whirl...not for nothing this thing sounds awesome...i was totally surprised by the CAP pickups...great cleans and awesome od tones...i played through my exact setup in the store..a TS-9 into an Egnater Renegade and woha baby!!! got the flat black one....love the neck too.....awesome guitar for the money...a full detailed review when she comes home!!
