NG On The Way: RG425/Bar Question

Have a 1986 RG425 in Pearl Red on the way ... The unique pickup configuration was enough to coax my interest, plus got a pretty good deal.

I do have to get a bar. Can someone help me out and confirm that this bar would fit this particular guitar?

Lastly, anyone else out there have an RG425?

Congrats! That is some interesting pickup placement, I'd be curious to hear how the "neck" pickup sounds.

I believe that is the correct bar, I think the only thing that changed on the original Edge the addition of a spring retainer (someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).

Hahaha I tell you, mid humbuckers are the best!
I have a 3 pickup SG and the middle humbucker gives me some tones that are really smooth all across the spectrum!

Nice! Anyone know what the necks are like on those things?

That arm will fit in the edge. But instead of going with the original, I would buy a floyd arm that you can adjust from the collar screw. The bushings on the ibanez arm wear out really fast (around two weeks for me) and your arm just is really floppy after that. The floyd arm you can adjust. It's also a little cheaper than the ibanez arm.

Just got the RG425 back from being setup and have cleaned it up a bit. (Really loving the clean tones on this guitar so far.)

Looks really weird (in a cool way)... The lack of a neck pickup would be a little disconcerting to me though...
