NGD; USACG

I have wanted this one since I saw one in a store early in the 90's
Finally time was right with availability and cash. It has seen its tough times though so it was about time to get home to dad and be loved ;-)

It will still need more original parts to complete, and I had to dismantle everything and do a big clean and buff. All electronics were taken out, and resoldered. New pickups installed.
The pickup switch was marked as VLX54, never heard of that one though.

Re: NGD; USACG

BTW.... The VLX-54 is a three way switch. Your the only person I've ever seen with a three-way and a mini-switch for tapping, other than my screaming eagle. I have the same arrangement.

Interesting. I've not seen that switch before but that makes sense. My 540P has a YM-30 3-way, but I believe that the VLX54 with the mini-switch is standard on the UCGR's with H-S config.

Btw, have you ever seen a necromancer with AANJ?
I can't remember I've seen any.

Re: NGD; USACG

It's because Necromancer's Castle was only offered 1989-90. The first AANJ guitars were in 1991.

Very cool Tony......... way better than I can play

You should make a clip showing off how the split works and some clean stuff/ neck pickup soloing....etc.

The wiring was so bad when I got it so I never tried it before taking the guitar apart.
And at the moment the extra switch is wired as a killswitch.
The neck pickup is a fast track 1 and is wired as full hum, but it doesn't sound very much as a humbucker. The middle position is both pickups in parallell, and still sounds great clean.
Obviously I don't need the extra switch, but I might find another purpose of it later on.
I might record a video later, now it's friday and time for some social stuff ;-)
Take care.

Re: NGD; USACG

Cool, sounds like you have it setup the way you like!!!

If you ever want a simple diagram to wire the switch as a coil tap, hit me up. That is what the switch was used for originally. Down was full hum, up was coil tapped. it make for a VERY cool option when the blade is in the middle position.

If your fast track sounds thin, you may want to reverse the red and black wires.

I always jones for the graphics. I was pretty upset I missed out on the one recently on that other site with the pamalina graphic. Timing was about 2 days off for me to get that one. Definitely love the 565 setup its one of my favs.

Actually it sounds exactly like I want it to, but for the moment I don't need the extra split switch. But since it's already there it doesn't hurt to wire it like it was supposed to be.
