NGD: '06 RG1527
Just procured my 2nd RG1527. This one is a well-played 2006 model that I got a great deal on. I love the 1527's... especially the 5-piece maple/wenge necks.
This guitar definitely ain't new, but it's structurally sound and plays great. Surface dings and faded hardware are all okay because in a couple months it'll be getting completely refinished in black and carbon fiber (Rick G., this is our guitar), all new hardware, new pickups, etc.
Anyway, on with the pics...
Odd to say this, but I really like this case!
The pups will be swapped. I'm still deciding if I want to keep this bridge, or replace with a minty new one. Either way, it's definitely getting Rich's locking stud mod.
Frets and fretboard are in good shape, but will be cleaned and polished this weekend. The locking nut and pressure pads need to be replaced. They're no longer serviceable.
I'm in love with these 5-piece maple/wenge necks:
