NGD

Decided a few weeks ago it was time to get a Gretsch so I did. I can't figure out why they decided to pus so many volume knobs on the guitar, seems kind of pointless to have a volume knob for each pickup, then a master volume too.

Re: NGD

1- That's gorgeous man!!! do you have more pics showing off the flame??

2- I like the idea of separate volume knobs....... I'd think they'd be great for blending pups then controlling volume with the master

3- How about some details? Is it stock? It looks like it, but I don't know much about Gretch.

Re: NGD

Here's a few pics from the auction. The original owner swapped out the pickups, Im not sure why, but he included the originals in the auction so I can always change them back if I feel like it. As far as I know the rest of it is stock, neck is surprisingly thin. I'm kicking around going with a more traditional wiring scheme. The 3 volume knobs and then a 3 way tone toggle isnt really something I'm used to, and the tone toggle is a little noisy so that might give me the excuse I need.

If you do take it apart, can you draw a schematic of the tone toggle? It's something I want to try on another guitar, but don't have a good diagram.

Thanks for the pics Cid!! Awesome flame.

Re: NGD

Nice!
I have a few Gretsch guitars myself.
That Rockabilly tone is so cool through the right amp.
Enjoy!

Re: NGD

Woah! I didn't look close enough at the first pictures as I thought it was black w/gold hardware. I love that green stain over the maple flame!

Looks like the G6120 Brian Setzer signature. I guess when you decide to do something, you do it big!

True. They aren't cheap, but they are very nice players.
They sound good too.

Congrats. That's a keeper.
