i remember playing one of those in red years ago and they were awesome. I was sad to see them discontinued. Awesome score.

no idea why it was so cheap. it was on the top rack and I had to squint to see the price but it had a red clearance tag on it so i had the guy take it down and I saw what it was going for.....looked it over, played it for a few minutes and bought it. Brand new,has an Air Norton and a Tone Zone in it!

It plays great. Neck is a tad thicker than an RG but really comfy. nice jumbo frets, great fretwork, just a nice solid classic axe.

And yes, Def Lep was the first riff I played on it.

In honesty, I was pretty excited when these were released. I was getting ready to buy one when, in another thread, Rich said that he'd stock them if they ever made a good one. Kinda put me off............ that combined with the fact that no GC's in the Chicago area stock it, so I couldn't try it for myself.

honestly, I went over the thing closely and there is not a flaw anywhere. The binding is perfect, the inlays are flush, finish is impeccable, frets don't have rolled edges, but they are all smooth as can be. All I had to do was lower the bridge and cut the nut slots a bit deeper ( which I would expect to do on most new guitars with a plastic nut) and it was ready to rock. Maybe I just got lucky and got a good one, but I couldn't be happier.

Re: NGD!

Most people who've picked these up have been really happy from what be read. I don't see a reason to not get one. They are sweet axes.

Re: NGD!

I have a question about those. What is the scale length? 25.5 or 24.75?
