Thank you, guys!
The bass is in pretty bad shape actually. There's black laquer spots on the back, the bridge looks selfmade and it was disgustingly dirty when it arrived. The neck is slightly shimmed because the trussrod is stuck and doesn't work.
It plays and sounds well, though. After a thorough cleaning it also looks great now. Of course it has quite some dings and dongs. That's pretty normal with this age.
The guitar is in much better shape!
It also has some scratches and dings and dongs but it's entirely original, plays and sounds great and also needed a thorough cleaning but it wasn't as filthy as the bass was.
In comparison to my Fender Strats it's pretty heavy.
I'm really happy with both!
I'm not a bass player, I just need a bass for my hobby recordings, so I don't have special expectations regarding basses. It should do the job.
I just bought a Mexican Fender Precision bass, so if the Ibby doesn't do the trick, I'll keep it for collection reasons and will use the Fender for recording.
