NGD - 1969 SG Standard

I recently found this completely original '69 SG and had to bring her home. Amazing classic rock tone especially through my JCM 800 stack. Keeper.....

Re: NGD - 1969 SG Standard

Everyone always thinks AC/DC ..but you can also think Frank Zappa, Tony Iommi, Derrick Trucks, Frank Marino, Pete Townsend or Thom Yorke to name a few.

SG's have a different feel as the guitar sits more to the left on a strap and the neck juts out way more than a Jem-style guitar. For me it has taken awhile to get used to but finger access way up the neck is amazing.
The trem system is limited so you can't do much with it and the knob locations suck, but still a cool guitar for what it is....

Very True

I've been playing tele's a bunch lately. When I switch back to a super strat, I'm like no wonder they scream metal. I feel a super strat is very balanced and easy to play. That coupled with a floyd rose trem is unbeatable.

Awesome, I love old guitars and especially old Gibsons. These old ones are real works of craftsmanship, hope you enjoy it!
