Hey, hey. I recently got an '87 Blue Burst 540R from jemsiter IBNZ_RG. It's great. Of all the 540R BB that's I've had this one is the most fun to play. The bodies of these guitars are typically thicker than the 540R from 1988 on. This one is too, but not by much. The last BB I bought to be a keeper weighed a ton so it moved on to someone else. My new BB weighs 7.2 lbs. My other two 540Rs weigh 7.2 lbs as well. While I'm at it, my '87 Saber weighs 7.2 lbs. I replaced the wiring with the Dan Armstrong Super Strat system and now have 12 useful pickup combinations. More than 12 actually, because the humbucker is installed in a seymour duncan Triple Shot ring.

Thanks guys. It's still a secret NGD though. It only comes out when my wife is at work. But when a vintage piece comes along you have to jump, you know? There's no telling when or if another of these would become available. I'm practicing that saying for when she finally sees it.

It's true though. It's been years since I've seen a complete Red Burst 540R for sale. And even longer since I've seen a Jewel Blue 540R HH.
