Hi All, I'm new to the Ibanez world. I've been playing for about 14 years now. Never had an ibanez, but always wanted one. I had a chance to pickup a sweet RG560 with a MAPLE board. Its a rare 1987 model as I was told. Everything seems to checkout also from the research I've done, the seller said it was a special order. I will post pics once I get some good outdoor shots!
Well after playing it with high action I decided to go lower, the action is REALLY low but it buzzes only on D and G strings on the 9th fret only! I haven't adjusted the truss rod yet, I don't actually have a tool that fits it!
So for 1, what type of wrench do I need for a 87 RG560 and 2, do I need more relief? or could the 10th fret be a little high (doesn't look that way).
I don't have much experience with 24 fret guitars so I'm not sure by giving it more relief the 9th fret would be affected as much as the 5-7 frets on a 22 fret guitar, but thats what seems logical to me.
80's Ibanez guitars rules!
Here are some pictures! I have the back cover, I was messing with the action. Going to get the period correct saddles soon.
