NGD 1989 RG750!

At last, after 3 years of Gibsonizing and Fenderizing my gear, I'm back with a RG750 nicknamed 'Black Widow'.
The seller sold it as 'stock' but in fact, changed the cosmo hardware for a black one, and just before the shipping, change the IBZ/USA F2 neck pickup for a boring V7, and also changed the stock knobs for those cosmo barrels.
Which is really annoying. (I'm now waiting for his answer.)
But not enough to spoil my happiness. The delicious shark tooth Wizard neck only is worth the trouble.
(I had spare cosmo parts and will probably find the missing pickups one way or another)
So here is she, in her poker black dress, saved from the 80s:

Very nice. Some of the most comfortable necks ever made. Definitely need to go back to original knobs and the neck pickup should be a IBZ/USA F4. Great score! Copngrats!

Just thinking the same thing myself. That one looks like it's been played enough to have had the clearcoat worn away.......leaving it with that nice, raw feel. Nice pickup indeed.

Hey! I was about to say:"no, it's a F2 on 1989 catalog" but in the 1990 one, it definitely says F4! So thanks for the input!

Really nice guitar! Man I'm totally ready to pull the trigger on one of those 750s if I run into one in good shape.

Awesome guitar cosmitron!! I just picked up a 750 myself.

BTW... I think I have the pups your looking for. I noticed that you have the RG5xx neck plate. Is that normal for European releases? I think it is, but I'm not sure.

I don't know! I think the seller took it apart right before he sent it, and kept what he wanted to keep, without a notice, which really bothers me each time I think about it. (But the guitar is so good to play so well...)

Re: NGD 1989 RG750!

I have to check my "box" to see if I have them, but if I do, I'll be glad to sell them.

FWIW.......this is the neck plate on U.S. released RG7xx's. I don't think your supposed to have these, but I don't know for sure.

Thanks!!!!
About that neck plate, Maybe it's because the US market 750 from the USRG period were assembled in the usa while the EU 750 weren't... I'll google for it.

Re: NGD 1989 RG750!

Just found this on Rich website:
http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/...nce/dating.htm
"RG750/60/60 - RADIUS - SABER - POWER

These guitars will either have Bensalem or North Hollywood plates depending on year, pre 91' will be Bensalem, post 91' will be North Hollywood. These plates will either follow the 6 digit plate scheme where the first 2 digits denote year, or they will be blank and have a Japan serial sticker on the headstock.

BLANK NECK PLATES

Guitars with the blank numbered cast plate will bear a headstock serial sticker denoting the Fujigen production of the parts."
Neck Plates Case closed!
