NGD 2018 550 Genesis TY Rich @ Ibanezrules.com!

First, Rich is a class act.
Answered a TON of questions and was patient with me.
Second I am completely floored by the guitar, more than I expected "new in box" his service and setup is amazing and I will not hesitate to purchase something from him again, in fact a RFR 550 may be in the cards soon(ish).

The amp is a 2018 marshall dsl 40cr I am very impressed with it.
This is the only picture I got to take tonight; I would rather play it.

Here are some ones he took.

Hey, watch what you call me. I don't want to people to get the wrong idea!

I never see a reason to have 2 of the same model. I wouldn't, , uh, wait, nevermind!

That one had a great 1/4 sawn fretboard. Break her in easy and then let her rip to redline.

Buying from Rich changed my perception of what a guitar and a purchase "should" be like. I use the playability of that guitar (with Rich's platinum setup) to scare "boutique dealers" to this day.

Well maybe not another RG, but I really am in love with these, I wish I had gotten an RG a long, long time ago if I am being honest.

I will say it to anyone that asks WOW just wow.
I have a guy I work with here that has done my setups for years and I trust him without fail. I have NO reason to take this to him.

Red face Re: NGD 2018 550 Genesis TY Rich @ Ibanezrules.com!

Niiiiiiiice!!! Rich has always been top notch with me as well. I've purchased two guitars from him and he was always accommodating to the point I consider it above and beyond. If I coulda purchased my JS1CR30 from him I would have. Can't go wrong with Rich's setups. I've had people try my guitars and they are wow'd with how well they play. I just tell thats the way a guitar is supposed to feel and play.

Congrats on the new guitar. Play the hell out of it.

Re: NGD 2018 550 Genesis TY Rich @ Ibanezrules.com!

Congrats on the DY! I am probably the first Jemsiter to have one of the new 550s (Got mine the day after or two days after the Japanese release, living in Japan is great ) and it has got to be the best Ibanezes I've played new in a LONG time, if ever. You got a nice figured fingerboard there, but mine has flame in both the fingerboard and a little in the neck. as well. I should probably get outdoor pics eventually but:

1. too busy with work
2. Weather has been god awful when I HAVE had time
3. Been sick this week

And just a note: Mine basically came perfect from the factory, but I guess that's another benefit of living in Japan; the factory is in Nagano, I live in Aichi, which isn't all THAT far from Nagano.

Amen on the Gravity Storms! IMO the best all around Vai pup. and I have really high hopes for my RG500. Glad you like yours.......I'm wondering were all the new RGs are besides Japan?

We're in the same boat, brother. (Pun intended. )
Good things come to those who wait.
I was going to go with a Super D bridge and Humbucker from Hell but I still have my Dimarzio/IBZ pickups from my RG921. I really liked how those sounded and might give them a try in the RG521. Worst that can happen is I pull them and go back to plan A.

Re: NGD 2018 550 Genesis TY Rich @ Ibanezrules.com!

Looks excellent, and I can't deny Rich's setups are the sh#t. His setup on my Jem 30th still wows me every time I play it, even almost a year later. (if only the Evo's, particularly the bridge pickup weren't so shrill to my ears...)

I have to admit, the PN model of the genesis 550 line intrigues me.
