I bought an RG570 body on impulse from Area51 customs. they seems to be closing business and selling off stock, but i maybe wrong.
Its an Ibanez body in what they called "prototype cobweb"
so, the project is completed, pretty much, and consists of:
Body - RG570 refinished by Area 51 customs
Neck - Super Wizard with maple fingerboard - from 2002 RG550
Pickups - V7 V8 & S1 (may upgrade these later, but i quite like them)
Trem - Black Original Edge - taken from 1998 RG505
Hardware - Black - taken from 1998 RG505
Strap buttons - Schaller strap locks
the fingerboard is not as bright as i'd like. The neck has darkened over the years (look where the scratchplate used to sit) so i'm tempted to sand it back and refinish it. i cant spray to save my life, so if i did refinish it, i'd likely use a wipe on poly, like Minwax or something. i'm reluctant to do this, incase its a softer finish than the factory finish and i end up regretting it.
I have 2 more projects lined up, using Bodies from Mai Guitars. It'll be a while before they are finished though.
What do you think guys?
