NGD!!!

Just got this off the bay for $350.

RG570 MIJ made in 2000. It has the Wizard neck and original Edge tremolo. It has the standard V7,V8, S1 pickup combo.

Anyway I was wondering if you guys could answer some questions I've been having on the guitar.

The guitar came with the original Edge bridge. So far, it hasn't been a bad trem. I didn't really get to setting it up yet but I have a few questions.
While trying out the trem I noticed there's no torque adjuster like the OFR and the ZR2 bridge. Is there a way to adjust torque on the fly? Or do you have to take off the washers on the bar?

How big is the allen key for the locking studs? I went through all of my allen keys looking for one that would fit but none of them make the stud go in and out.

How many springs do you usually use for your trems? I usually put 2 in an arrow formation, but the springs seem really worn and I have to put all 3, even though they're strung with .9's.

... on the fly? nope... to tighten, do the plumpers tape or nail polish trick.

I believe it's 1.5mm

All of my Edge/Lo-pro axe's are in parallel formation. Seems like you need to replace those springs immediately

Re: NGD!!!

To ease your mind a bit (and if you really must), you can get an OFR arm assembly from Stew-Mac and replace the arm assembly from the Edge.

Yea I saw a thread on that in Jemsite while I was looking up the problem. I guess if that's the only alternative to get on the fly torque adjustments then I'll do it sometime in the future.

Re: NGD!!!

Thanks! It took some effort to get it clean, the frets were rusting and everything.

But now that it's almost all cleaned up she's great to play on!

Re: NGD!!!

Wow, that's awesome. Congrats!

It's also the perfect candidate for a mirror pickguard if you want to get rid of those old pickup rings.

That actually sounds pretty tempting.. But I wouldn't trust myself with drilling mounting holes into the guitar.
