NGD 96 RG450 WTF? These any good?

Well, I just picked up a 96 RG450 for approx $170 US.

Still organizing freight. From what I notice, There are a few variations so here is a pic of the model that I found on the net. Its a 96 Cort built

Well,

I've played 550's and 350's.. neither as cheap as this. Are they any good?

The guitar itself is un-chipped and in pretty good condition by the looks.

Wait, I remember why I really started this post... what are the pups? INF? V's? the seller didnt know and I have rarely seen this model.

Thanks

Originally, I believe 450s were V7 S1 V8 for that year

I think it isn't bad as a guitar, but the general consensus is that the trem is crap (if it is the TRS, TRSII or LO-TRSII). Some 450s for one year had Edge trems. I don't know which year. That pic has a TRS type

1996 RG4xx would be Korean, so it should have INF pickups stock.

Never cared for the early MIK RGs, to be honest, I would pass.

Yeah, it will come with INFs and LO-TRS II. Replace the trem witha Gotoh FR and load your choice of pickups and it should be awesome. You did well for $170 IMO.

Yeah, I agree--for $170.00, it's decent. I suggest picking up an original Edge and doing the conversion. The neck and body of these 450s are comparable to 550s.

Thanks to all of you. It's funny, I actually just sold an original edge off my 550 to fund this baby.

Seen plenty of 3 series RGsand lesser then the 550s and up but no too many of these.. they seem kinda rare around these parts. I'm guessing that I'll be happy.

Not fussed with the the MIK part. I've has a MIK 555 and it was all good. I even got my 270 sounding nice with a bit of love (ok a lot).

They are INFs buy the looks. Its funny, the gilr is selling on behalf of her brother, I have to call her tomorrow to talk her through getting the neck off for post.

The only reason I got it really is because I have had a Full GK GT unit for well over a year and now that I don't have a a midi keyboard, I really need to get this baby rocking, and the other build is taking too long (my fault)

Looks like I'll be blocking the trem and ripping out all but one pup. Custom PG for the GK and she should end up being a sweetie.

Seriously, you should have seen my options for this price bracket...pretty poor.

Gios and Rx40's etc are selling for more lol 270's? 350's? forget about it. haha

Thanka again guys.
