NGD(again...)

Picked up a used Prestige RG1527 today.
(total impulse buy at GC, came with its case, saving a couple of $$)
It's seen some action, as there are plenty of chips in the paint,
but it plays so good!(the frets are in great shape as well)
The neck feels somewhat different than my Universe SBK7, not sure
how to quantify it yet.
I like the double humbucker p-ups, nice and "chimey" with a clean
tone, and well defined when using distortion.
Stoked to have a back-up 7. Might even leave this one
in standard tuning.
Or not.
Jeez, I'm actually building an Ibanez collection.

Re: NGD(again...)

Wasn't my intention, to be sure.
But I have been playing Ibanez guitars since '87.
So, a collection may have been inevitable.

Re: NGD(again...)

O.k.!
(I've got 10 posts, I guess I put up some pics...)
a reasonable facsimile of the actual color;

obligatory headstock shot;

Apparently it saw action in some NorCal band for a few years,
so there are chips aplenty in the paint, although I can tell how thin the paint
job is. Meh. I didn't buy it 'cause it was beautiful!!!

Grats! Love the 1527's. I have two RB's myself... an '06 and an '08.

Re: NGD(again...)

Addendum:
(Sorry for the spectacularly craptacular picture!)

While I don't agree with the prior owner's painting the U-Bar and volume knob neon green, it's an excellent playing/sounding instrument!!
I'm guessing because of the body being Mahogany, it has a different resonance to it than my Universe and Prestige 7, it sounds a bit "darker".
I'm not sure what p'ups it has in it though, but they don't seem
to be hot; when I picked it up at GC, I ran it through a re-issue Fender Twin and it had this great piano-like clarity through all the strings.
Acoustically, and through a clean amp, it has wonderful sustain. The neck seems to be on the thin side, but not overly so.(it has the old style Floyd nut with bolts through the neck unlike my Prestige which is top mounted)
I do like the Firespark Blue color; very nice. And the pearl-oid neck binding is a nice bit of eye-candy.
Really looking forward to running through my amps and comparing/contrasting it to my other 7's!

Re: NGD(again...)

I feel like a douchebag actually.
Except, that it looks like current project may be
gigging by late summer so, K7 and Prestige 7
will be my weapons of choice.

Awesome man, dont feel like a douchebag at all. Gearwhoring is a good thing unless you want to keep your current girlfriend/wife/significant other
