NGD: American Standard Strat Blizzard Pearl

I have been jonesing for a strat lately as I have been wanting to branch out in my sound choice. Wanted a new on in the Blizzard Pearl and they finally came in to the big dealer in Fort Wayne so I bought it.

This thing plays incredible, had a great setup from the dealer and it just sounds awesome. It's certainly not my hum bucker guitars though.

I love it!!

Re: NGD: American Standard Strat Blizzard Pearl

Nice! Great colour!
I traded my Jem7VWH for a '62 Strat reissue a while ago and I will never ever ever regret it. The Strat is amazing. I went for a fully vintage-vibed model: thin frets, very round fretboard radius, noisy single coils, 6-screw bridge... I figured that if I was gonna go for a Strat, why not get something super-mega Stratty. But I tried a few American Standards and Deluxes too and they made it a really hard decision.

Re: NGD: American Standard Strat Blizzard Pearl

Thanks guys!!! It is a great guitar and looks incredible in person. There are a couple of songs I had started that I couldn't get the right sound on, now I think I got it.

Here are a couple more pics.

Very classy. However, you will become addicted to Strats.

I just want one: the candy red maple-necked Eric Johnson. Or if I don't like that neck, one that looks just like it.

Either that or one that looks just like "Excalibur" in Wayne's World.

Sweeeeeet.
That colour reminds me of the Strat used by Tim Renwick on the Pink Floyd Pulse live DVD.

She's beautiful Jeff. I LOVE the color!!!

It's funny, I've NEVER been a strat person but I had a chance to clean and setup my nieces '06 60th anniversary MIM and really fell for it. I don't think I'd give up any of my Ibby's for it.........but I was SERIOUSLY impressed with the whole package.

This is her 60th:

Congrats, nice one . And I have to agree with the others here - ever since I got my Strat ('10 FSR w/ Texas Specials) it's become addictive. It makes me play differently, it's responsive, it's comfy, it's fun...I feel like I really have to work for the tone with it, and it's rewarding!

Thanks guys!!! Gonna start a new song with it this weekend, see where it takes me!!

RGT, that is a beaut. Luckily I did not have to give up an Ibby for it. I actually just picked another one up yesterday. 91 540R SSH

Re: NGD: American Standard Strat Blizzard Pearl

Let us know how your tuning stability is. Mine drove me nuts. I just installed Fender locking tuners (good deal on 3bay) - haven't played extensively, but huge difference in tuning stability. I won't invest into nut sauce as this is my only non-locking trem guitar ...pencil lead does the job so far.
