NGD (another RG1527M) and question about the fret(s)

Hi, I got another RG1527M yesterday!

I have a question regarding one fret:
I saw it's black on the side of the fretboard (only the part that is inside the board), and I am a bit worried if this could be rust and cause trouble later on? Anybody have an idea what it could be?
Here is a pic (it's the 21st fret):

Thanks,
Lars

Doesn't really look like rust from the picture, though I'm not saying it isn't. It could be how the fret was put in. Like if glue leaked a bit. Either way, if your seriously careful, you could some how cover the other parts around it (possibly tape) and use 0000 steel wool to remove the black. Wouldn't be the easiest due to the small area it is, but still possible.

Good luck!

So awesome. I miss my 1527 M . What can you possibly do with 3 of the same guitar? haha. You should repaint one of them-- make it a custom project with a maple neck!
