NGD AR 2619

I've actually had the AR2619 for a few weeks but was waiting to take a pic until my rig was more finalized.

I've been a fan of Made in Japan Set neck Ibanez guitars since high school, (class of '81). Bought an AR 2000 Prestige a while back, and had to get an AR 2619 as this was THE year for MIJ Ibanez's set necks, ARZ6UC, AR 2619, EKM 100, and the Artstar Prestige series.

I'm also using a Kemper Rack in a Mission Engineering Gemini Head, Mission Gemini 2 FRFR Active Stereo Cab, and Voodoo Labs switching system.

Hi. AR is a cool guitar!

Could you give me a quick rundown on the Kemper please? How it works, how you set it up, etc...

Re: NGD AR 2619

Kemper allows you to "profile" any solid state or tube pre-amp, amp, and cabinet. It is a step beyond a modeler. Many pro guitarists will profile all the differant Amps they use on a recording session, then they can easily recreate those same tones on the road. If, like myself, you don't have several $10,000 Amps around your house, there is a free profile exchange where you trade profiles, or for very little money you can buy professionally profiled Amps. At gigs, most guys run a stereo line direct to Front of House, using the cab profiles, and then a second line into a powered monitor. My Gemini 2 is an active stereo cab Full Range/Flat Response so it can accurately ,(and LOUDLY), reproduce any of my amp/cab profiles.
The combination of Ibanez Prestige/Kemper/Gemini 2 is astounding!!!

OK I see. Now, how do you profile an Orange Jim Root Terror (which I own) for example? Will the Kemper respond to different guitars and different pickups just like a real amp would? And how much does it cost??

Of course! Ibanez Prestige/Great amp/Great cab = astounding

Re: NGD AR 2619

Yes, it responds accordingly. I actually have a profile of that amp from the Exchange, and it's the beast. A new Kemper is about $2000

Check out this vid on Profiling with Ola Englund,

I am excited about another "Made in Japan" Prestige set neck due any day now, the ARZ6UC, about $2500 retail. It has factory down tuning, and a bit longer scale than other single cutaway guitars.
I think that guitar will be a great addition to my arsenal !
