NGD: Black Water DII (insane freboard)

This is probably one of my favorite guitars in a while. Sounds and plays about halfway between by Blackmachne B6 and B2.

If anyone gets a chance to snag a Black Water, I really recommend they do!

The pale moon ebony looks completely different from the normal jet black ebony that has been traditionally used as a fingerboard. Does it feel (or sound - if you're Eric Johnson) the same as normal ebony? Is it used for cosmetics or due to a scarcity of "real" ebony of high enough grade?

Pale moon is much more expensive that traditional ebony and way harder to find. It feels like a worn in maple. I cannot comment on it tonally because I have only owned three guitars with pale moon. IMO this guitar plays like my old jem LNG though because of the pme. A supreme shredder.

That's cool exclusivity is always cool. I just recall that there was some FBi/EPA whatever fun that the USA had a little while ago from the enforcement of the Lacey act and I wondered if that had anything to do with it...

Damn, that thing is one of the nicest guitars I've ever seen

Can I be cheeky and ask how much something like this sets one back? Are we talking Blackmachine money or more like Jem money? Just tell me to do one if you don't wanna say

Aaron (the sole luthier/builder at Black Water) is backed up and not taking orders at the moment. I briefly had this one up for sale and someone offered me a Daemoness and someone else offered me $4500 USD. The last Daemoness sold for nearly $6000 so I guess somewhere in that range.

If those pictures are pretty representative, that's a gorgeous color on the top.

Re: NGD: Black Water DII (insane freboard)

Wow. I feel like this is one of those types of guitar that is so awesomely impressive, that you're certain no handful of pictures will give justice to just how incredible it actually is in person! That binding transition to carve is superb, and the grain of the board grabs your eye immediately. That Hannes bridge is like the evil spawn of a TOM & Strat romp, and is one of my favorite fixed bridges design-wise. And that quilt is probably deep enough to give you motion sickness if you stare at it too long!

I'm wasn't familiar with this model Parker until this thread, so pardon my ignorance. Is that a bolt-on neck, or thru? Pickup specs?

Beautiful guitar, man! Many of you seem to be familiar with this , but this is the first time in a while that I've seen a guitar that is really outside-the-box unique. Time for me to seek out all the information a Google Search can muster!
