NGD (excuse my poor photos) S320

My old folks had 300 to spend on me for xmas (since they were originally going to put 300 towards a laptop which I'm no longer gonna need) so I said what the hey, and got them to get me a nice S320. I was really impressed when I tried it in the shop, quality control was fantastic, definitely the best guitar I've seen for this price. Will be putting my preferred string gauges on soon and eventually getting some new pickups, but otherwise I couldn't be happier. Oh, and it doesn't like my big Planet Waves cable (keeps cutting out) but a smaller jack works fine.

I can't get my hands off it. This is actually more rewarding to play than my RG321. The bridge helps me play more cleanly.

Re: NGD (excuse my poor photos) S320

I played on one of these the other day. I really liked the whole package...the pickups are better than I expected and the trem is also really good. From the tests I did, even with the nut unlocked, it held the tuning pretty well. Now I'm really dying for a S, but I'm thinking s620 instead...it'll probably cost me a lot more in the long run as I'll have to change pickups and so on, but I wasn't really hot for the finish on the s320. I tend to rest my fingers on the body while picking and it gave me a weird feeling In any event, nice score! It's a great axe.

Aye, the finish is quite slippery, good to have a strap.

I want to keep the BKP's in my RG, I want two guitars with good pickups. I want Warpigs in this S as well, but would fancy some open, white coil ones (an option you can order on the BKP site) just for variety. The INF's aren't perfect but are not bad for stock pickups so I'm not in that bad a rush to buy a new set.

The ZR has to be one of the best non-OFR locking trems I've come across (mind, I've only had this guitar a few days and haven't restrung it yet). A lot of OFR purists don't like the idea of the ball-bearing system but I see this as less likely to wear than a knife edge would. As far as my requirements go, I like this trem. It's much nicer on the palm than the hardtail bridge and allows for much cleaner playing.

I should also mention, this guitar hardly weighs a thing!

Re: NGD (excuse my poor photos) S320

You're right, the ZR bridges are nice. Make sure you tighten up the trem posts though to save you having problems with tuning stability. I was getting really annoyed with my ZR 'cause it wouldn't stick, but then found this thread: http://www.jemsite.com/forums/f11/tr...tick-3228.html

I just tightened the two nuts around the trem posts and now it's perfect.

Anyway, enjoy!

... how about "Weathered black" covers on the Pig's White coils would work too.
Got a black open-coil C-pig in one of my S's over a month ago and i'm hooked...

Took me a while to setup my ZR II after I replaced the strings but it works as stated... a solid trem.

Re: NGD (excuse my poor photos) S320

I know setting up my ZR will be a task so isntead of moving from 9-42 to my very picky 9/11/16/28/38/48 that I've been favouring this year, I'm gonna go to 9-46 to start with.

I can play quite happily with the 9-42 set currently on there mind, I just like tightness on the low strings.
