It's been quite awhile since I had an Ibanez NGD...This project has been going on and off for almost 2 years
This is pieced together from an old '87 RG550 neck I got from ebay that had a fretboard on it that looked like it had been a chew toy for a Rottweiler and an '89 RG560 body. When I first got it in I stripped the board off and slapped on a pyramid board from aiguitars. Let's just say all did not go well back then and it sat unfinished for a very long time
Over the past week I decided to fix her up. So I yanked the frets, took the board back off, planed everything up correctly, glued it back up, and finished it off with Danish Oil.
Yesterday I installed stainless jumbo frets in the neck and put it all together with a Dominion in the bridge and an Air Norton S in the neck.
This thing has the thinnest neck I've ever played, 16mm @ the 1st fret and 18mm @ the 12th.
I love it, it plays so fast and effortless it's hard to put down! It plays so good I might even take the time to level and buff the clear
Think I'm going to make a black pickguard for it. Perle tried to make this custom 565 pickguard for it, but things just don't line up right and I'm not crazy about the purple anymore...
