NGD! Flouro Green LNG(ish) RG560

It's been quite awhile since I had an Ibanez NGD...This project has been going on and off for almost 2 years

This is pieced together from an old '87 RG550 neck I got from ebay that had a fretboard on it that looked like it had been a chew toy for a Rottweiler and an '89 RG560 body. When I first got it in I stripped the board off and slapped on a pyramid board from aiguitars. Let's just say all did not go well back then and it sat unfinished for a very long time

Over the past week I decided to fix her up. So I yanked the frets, took the board back off, planed everything up correctly, glued it back up, and finished it off with Danish Oil.

Yesterday I installed stainless jumbo frets in the neck and put it all together with a Dominion in the bridge and an Air Norton S in the neck.

This thing has the thinnest neck I've ever played, 16mm @ the 1st fret and 18mm @ the 12th.

I love it, it plays so fast and effortless it's hard to put down! It plays so good I might even take the time to level and buff the clear

Think I'm going to make a black pickguard for it. Perle tried to make this custom 565 pickguard for it, but things just don't line up right and I'm not crazy about the purple anymore...

Very nice. How did you wire up the switch?

Thanks! It's just a standard 3 way wiring bridge, bridge & neck, neck

Cool project. Know what you mean by thin neck. I have a '92 RG550 that has a just unbelievably thin neck. Also like the combo of green body and the green pyramid inlays.

Wow, that looks awesome man. I love green guitars. I wish Ibanez made a similar model to that one. Great job!

Wow... that looks killer! I think the purple pickguard looks great along with the headstock logo and pink in the pyramids.

That is very hot! Definitely agree on the switch to a Black guard though.

Veey cool, good job! I'll second switching to the black pickguard. The purple one looks good as is but a black one just seems like it would fit much better.

Very cool. I think that a neon yellow volume knob could really finish it off nicely.

The purple and green reminds me of The Joker lol. I'd definitely go with black. I love that green too!
