NGD: Gametime!!!!!

Hey guys, got a new to me guitar and instead of just saying it, lets play a game of "Guess the Guitar!!!!!!!"

No prizes, just the satisfaction of you knowing your Ibanez.

Paul, you can't play!!!

Go!!!!!

1988 Model to be more specific. Backstop in it?

Hope you dig it!

Re: NGD: Gametime!!!!!

Fast got it.

Serial is an 87 but who knows with all of the late year stuff I have seen.

J, actually, I don't know. I thought about that but was too busy playing it.

Gotta go check now. I kind of doubt it but we'll see.

Re: NGD: Gametime!!!!!

That is an '87. Two knobs, three switches.

Sucks that the Backstop is missing.

Re: NGD: Gametime!!!!!

Enjoy it my friend. Not many out there in this condition. I'm glad it is going to a good home.

Re: NGD: Gametime!!!!!

Thanks!!!!!

It passed the 1st night test with flying colors. It'll stay a round.

Couple of more pics. Body in great shape, neck in good shape, plays nicely but will need some cosmetics so I will be starting a search for a new Cosmo trem and a TZ for the bridge.

Re: NGD: Gametime!!!!!

It looks like it came with the IBZUSA pickups, I would hunt down one at a decent price and try it out. The IBZUSA pickups are pretty good. I e-mailed DiMarzio about it once, and they said the IBZUSA is the same as the IBZUSAF1 just different spacing.

Re: NGD: Gametime!!!!!

I didn't look at other peoples responses, but just by looking at that first pic I'd say it's a Power model. The one Satch used or had before his own signature model came out.

Re: NGD: Gametime!!!!!

It is. 1987 540P (Power)

Fastmerc ended the game fairly quickly.

I am not sure how much he actually used the 540P but it was forever attached to him with the Not of This Earth cover.

Re: NGD: Gametime!!!!!

Very nice dude.......It's really clean, isn't it?

I know I have a great condition F2 and maybe a TZ. FWIW, the F2 is the best I've ever had. Nice and beefy. I've been sitting on it waiting for the right guitar to put it in. I have a bunch of other pups you might like too.......Maybe a Gravity Storm? I'll look to see what I have, but my "reserves" are getting low.

I have a really nice black Edge and a spankin new, never been used Lo-Pro in cosmo. I couldn't save you any $$ on the LP unless you wanted to take it as partial trade for that "other" guitar....

Re: NGD: Gametime!!!!!

Be careful about messing with that trem, or at least keep the original around. There are some unique things about an '87 trem that change on newer ones.

I have a "Roadstar Series" RG410/20/30 neck that I'm going to put on my 540P, which will make it more Satch-like. I just need to get Ryc to put new frets on it first

Re: NGD: Gametime!!!!!

It's an '87 neck, so it's the modern headstock. This one is a straight headstock neck like the one on Joe's original black 540P. The neck in perfect cosmetically but the frets are shot to hell.

I know you have abunch of people banging on your door for work, so don't feel the need to say yes. I was half joking.
