So, I had been searching for a solid acoustic to play live and the more I pondered, the more this made sense, feedback is a non-issue now.
These are pics of my actual guitar taken by Sweetwater before they shipped it out. I have to say their customer svc thus far has been impeccable.
Without further ado:
I spent a solid couple hours with it this morning, it was set up nicely and pristine coming out of the case. Part of their inspection and setup process, they repack the instruments wearing white gloves, which I find a nice touch.
The 16" neck radius is perfect for me, I am a big Ibanez Wizard Neck style fan and this is not far off from that feel. If it had nickel strings it would play just like an electric.
The Duet system utilizes a piezo and mic based system and you can blend between the two or full one or the other. On the mics, there are 5 different modes that give different voicings and I have to say that I like 3 of the 5 straight away from my headphone amp (ipad with preamp and through iJam with their acoustic plugin into headphones). there is a very convincing acoustic tone that I hear right off the bat, so live this guitar should be a treat. Natural acoustics, it is very midrange heavy, as it's suck a thin body, but it does have acoustic properties and is audible, but won't come close to a dreadnaught, but that isn't its function.
So far, my 1st impressions are very positive overall. The red oversaturated on their pics and you don't see the woodgrain beneath the stain, there is a nice spruce top underneath that is visible up close.
