NGD: Ibanez Premium RG921F

Just got it and am super stoked. It is the one with the quilt red top. It sounds and plays great. The tones are very metalllish but sound great when running clean with a hint of reverby and delay. When running through the Hyde side of my VS Jekyll and Hyde it sounds ferocious. The build on it is flawless as least as far as I can tell. I checked the frets, binding, neck alignment, intonation, and finish and could not find any flaws that jumped out at me. Some may think I am crazy but I traded my Charvel Model 6 and a PRS SE for it even. I did not like the Model 6 because of the tremolo and rarely played the PRS. I still have my Charvel LS1 so the Charvel stoke is still satisfied. But the Premium is outstanding. I love the Tight End Bridege. Super stable and intonates very easily. Pictures to come tomorrow as I left my camera at work.

Thanks. I am really enjoying this thing. If Indonesia continues to put out this quality type product, the world needs to take heed

Cool guitar. I've never seen a fingerboard that color before!

Why does the low E saddle look different than the others?

About the low E, I have no idea. The only other one that I have seen had the same anomaly. I did not ask the tech at the time. I have to say, this guitar plays so well and is set up so right that it may end up not being very much fun to upgrade. The fretwork is as good as I have seen on any guitar, production or specialty. Maybe pickups later. The stock pickups sound good to me but I would like to get some Lace Hesher (?) pickups in due time. I had read some reviews that said that the stock pickups sounded a little thin but I think Ibanez may have read those reviews because these pickups sound great. Awesome low end and pristine highs. Cleans are good but when kicked in the ass with a distortion pedal they roar.

That quilt looks great. I'm sure you'll enjoy the guitar.

As others have noted, I'm pretty sure there should be a saddle lock screw on the low E saddle, though. The Tight-End R manual shows 6.

I'll take it back to GC and have them get one on it. Thanks!
