NGD: Ibanez RG8527VV J-Custom. WEWT!

I've long dreamt of owning a J-Custom (specifically a VV finish), but don't like the trems on the newer models. So, my search has been limited to the used market. On the rare occasions an "VV" has popped up, they've been too beaten up for my taste. Finally, after years of searching... this baby popped up, in amazing condition. A nail-biting 3 weeks later (shipped from Canada) I finally have my dream guitar. GO ME

This one's a 2004. It has D-Activators in it right now, and I'm still deciding whether to keep them. I've installed the locking stud mod, high-tension springs, and I'll be putting a new Edge Pro in it as well, as this one has some mechanical issues that I'm unable to fix.

(if this looks familiar, it's because Stealth just posted his own NGD for it a few weeks ago, heh)

Absolutely LOVE the way that guitar looks. I'd like to find a RG3120VV someday.

Jury is still out. I've only played for a few hours now (nursing a wrist injury atm) and my 1st impression is that I like them. However, they are definitely different than the CrunchLab 7 / Liquifire 7 combo I've been using exclusively in my two 1527's. So far though, the DA's and mahogany/maple combo seems to work very well, especially for lead work, so I'll probably keep them.

I know! It's not like any other production AANJ that I've played. It's just... better, as is everything about this guitar. I've played a lot of Prestige's over the years, so that's the level I'm used to. This guitar takes the cake though (as it should). Burra burra happy.

And what's up with this fantastic neck profile? It's slightly different (and feels better) than any other Ibanez 7 string I've played. Still super thin but... different. I love it.

Agreed. Gotta love the way they sculpt the heel on the J Customs.

Re: NGD: Ibanez RG8527VV J-Custom. WEWT!

Hey everyone, I'm seriously considering selling this, but kinda wanted to gauge interest.

After owing this amazing guitar (and only playing it in my studio), I find that I'm just not reaching for it as much as my trusty old RG1527. I guess I'm just a basswood guy.

Just post here if you're interested, and eventually I can list it in the for sale section.

Re: NGD: Ibanez RG8527VV J-Custom. WEWT!

Tempting, but I have only a theoretical need for a 7 (I don't play any 7 string stuff). Also, that new ash seven...

If this were the DBK finish one, I'd have to start selling stuff.
