NGD: Ibanez RG970WBWZ-WLB

Hey guys,

I got a new baby last week and I am really proud
It's a beauty and it plays awesome! Switched from Suhr Modern to Ibanez Premium, and I am quite impressed. They playability is really awesome as well as the work on the guitar itself. Can't believe there's a difference of 2000 between those two guitars. I didn't expect that the Premium would play that great and also that the manufacture would be that great!
If you me if the Suhr is really that much better (which it normally should be because of the price difference) than the Premium, I have to say no!
Now enough talking I guess, here are some pics for you:

Only thing I am going to do is to change the pickups for Suhr SSh+, SSV and ML.

Kind regards,

Dominik

Dominik, this guitar is beautiful!! I didn't know this model existed..........

Be careful comparing it to your Suhr.......you might upset someone....LOL

So hows the fretwork?? any close-up pics? How are you liking the EZII bridge?

Great buy there. Now for the questions.

1) Is the fretwork even? How well are they finished?
2) Does the neck feel comfortable to you? Is the neck twisted or straight with slight relief?
3) How stable is the EZII when you whammy hard?
4) Any finishing flaws that are noticeable?

That's all for now. Thanks.

I am not saying a Suhr is worse than this guitar, I never would, but for me it's not worth 2000 more. I don't care if the guitar is made in the US or Indonesia as long it feels nice
I like the EZII bridge quite a lot, can't say too much about tuning stability yet, as I just have it one week.
Fretwork looks good, no dead spots detected yet, and the action is quite low, too
Of what do you want to have some close-ups? Then I will make some

I get it..... I know your not ripping on the Suhr. Some people might get upset that your enjoying your guitar after having owned a Suhr...... that's all I was saying.

I'm glad your liking it, I wish we had that model here in the U.S. I was hoping to see close-ups of the fret work.....

Fretwork looks great to me, can't say anything about it by now.

The neck feels great, absolutely! The neck is straight with slight relief
3) How stable is the EZII when you whammy hard?
After one week it's quite stable, but let's see how it will be after some more time. All I can say is, my Suhr stayed in tune forever. I guess I just had to tune it one time
4) Any finishing flaws that are noticeable?
No
That's all for now. Thanks.
Guess you ask because that's not too common that someone is raving that much about a Ibanez Premium?
I really like it a lot, and I really don't know if I will ever get back to Suhr again, but time will tell

Congrats man, that is a beaut!!! It is interesting that you went from a Suhr to a Premium but I must say, the Premium I have is a solid guitar and done well.

I sold my Suhr because I needed some money, and I noticed Marco Sfogli (one of my favorite players) plays Ibanez Premiums. So I said, let's go for it. And well...I am really impressed! Especially for the price. But I really don't want to say anything bad about my Suhr I had. It's been a beauty and played awesome.

No man, I'm asking all these questions not because it's a Premium but because I'm confused whether to buy a premium or an RG 1xxx prestige.

Do all Premium guitars come with the case or is it a separate buy?

Can you please post some bridge shots and neck heel shots and also some back cavity (trem cavity) shots if that is not too much trouble?

Ah ok I can't say anything about the Prestige models.
They all come with this case (it's not a hardcase case but I guess it's good enough for traveling and gigging)

Here we go

That was really fast. Thanks man. Really appreciate it. This is one quality piece of gear you've got. Congrats. I think you just helped Ibanez sell a guitar (apart from the one you bought).
