NGD - Jaden Rose Original Series Purpleheart Custom

As I was very impressed with the True temperament neck of my Orange multicolor Jem, I decided that i needed another guitar with the same fretting system that would allow me not to overuse my swirled baby....

http://www.jemsite.com/forums/showth...nge+multicolor

I was lucky enough to stomp upon a Jaden Rose Original Series Purpleheart Custom with a true temperament neck!!!!!!! The guitar was on specs by another Terry (great players share same names ;-) )

I liked the looks but more over, I was luck enough to hear (and like the sound) on the following youtube video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6OXi8RCB2s

Jaden was the creator of the swamp ash body of my Orange multicolor Jem, so as I had only POSITIVE experience about his work and his communication, I was pre-occupied that I would fall in love with this babe.

As soon as I came up with a deal with the owner, Jaden did a PERFECT set-up to my likes (9's, Eb tuning) and the guitar was brought to me, by a friend of mine who was travelling from England to Athens.

When I got the guitar I liked the JADEN logo on the hardcase, showing that he really cares about his bussiness

Then, opening the case, I looked at the guitar.....

very impressive, but I was expecting Purpleheart wood to have a more neon purple shade :-(
(Just JOKING!!!)

The neck was almost identical to my other guitar,

and when I held her, she was ready to play...

I took her in the studio and played her on a Randall compo (first direct, then through my Line 6 live). I was impressed by her sustain, it went on forever, despite the distortion level.

Initially, I wasn't thrilled by its clean sound, but when I plugged her on a Marshall compo, I changed my mind.

I'll record (HD video) today the rehearsal of my 80's tribute band with both TT guitars and I'll post videos :-)

Nice stuff. I would love one of those necks. I saw a prototype made for Vai, and said to myself, "Now that makes sense"! good luck with it. Hey, if you don't mind, PM me what you paid for it, I'm thinking of making one similar as a next purchase. I just need to know how much to expect!

You can find info on the www.truetemperament.com site. Not cheap.

I agree, but every penny is worthed, especially for chord work.

On this guitar, I was lucky as I got it as a finished project, so the price was a steal :-)

Just curious.

What happens if you bend a string over those spagetti frets?

Nothing really, despite how it looks it barely affects you playing. Really it just takes place of intonation at the bridge. Every string is the same length, so the intonation is correct all over the fretboard. I spent a while talking to this guy at the NAMM a couple years ago, still not sure how he figured this all out.

The problem nobody ever asks about this is how do you cut slots for the frets when building a guitar?

The dressing etc was one of the reasons I got a second guitar with TT frets. Having two axes, one suffering the main core of practicing and the second being mainly used as live guitar, minimizes the wear ;-)

BTW, I recorded some stuff last night, and I'll edit the videos soon, to post them here

That's insane, lol. Not something that can really be done by hand. I guess you could glue them like a parker.

I don't think they would be stable on the fretboard ;-)

that fretsystem often generates more questions than there are answers

TT Anders' personal guitar even got more frets. It was probably one of the guitars he experimented with, he got two different C notes on the A string for F and C chords. That is a bit strange, but the more normal versions are not strange at all. Well, apart from one less thing to blame for not playing in tune.
