NGD At Last: JS6400-An Experimental Hand Build

I finally finished my take on a 24 fret version of the old JS6000 which I call the JS6400

Here are the specs:

- Mahogany body,
- Birdseye maple neck
- 10" to 14" compound radius wenge fretboard, abalone dots.
- Jescar 47095 frets (Close to W6105)
- Bone nut,
- Gotoh 101C bridge and tuners,
- Zebra DiMarzio Fred and Cream Chopper
- Hi-Pass Filter (OFF on pull-pot)
- Coil Split (ON on pull pot)
- 3-way switch.

Here are some glamour shots.

If you're interested, there's a build thread in JS sub-forum, but as it doesn't get a lot of general interest traffic, I wanted to post the NGD thread here as well.

Thanks. Honestly I didn't have much time with it so I played unplugged mostly, but it sounds similar to the 2400 I have I like the chopper when split quite a bit.

I like the fretboard a lot. Nice choice.

That looks so cool! My favorite part is the neck. That wenge fretboard looks so nice and the birdseye neck looks like it has a bit of flame pattern to it too. Great job man!

Thanks guys! The neck and fretboard looks really nice in person. Who'da thunk it that Home Depot had flamed Birdseye maple right?

Thanks guys.

Sounds great Jesse. By the time I'm back from vacation, I think the neck would settle in a bit more with string tension. Not that I think it would change much, the maple is really hard, even though I drilled the holes on the neck exactly the screw shaft diameter, the screws were constantly squeezing and backing the drill up on the torque cut off.
