NGD : More DYR is better !

Hi,
Since I have my RG550DYR, I love this guitar !
I could buy for a ridiculous price this RG505 DYR
FYI, the differences between RG550 and RG 505 are:
RG550 : Wizard and Lo-pro Edge
RG505 : Wizard II and Edge

it's a '96 RG505, so no more matching headstock since 1995 !
the RG550 was made in 1994

Enough talking, put sunglasses on, and.......

With big sister RG550DYR:

With the kit It gonna be to be equiped (It'll be sorta RG705 or what) :

I love your RG705 idea! But you need an F4 for the neck and a C3 for the middle.

What would be awesome would be if you could find an RG550LTD sharktooth neck for it!

or a 570EX neck....same neck, but for whatever reason the 570's sell for less.

I dig the 705 idea too.......totally original!!!

Didn't know that. I'd buy one up, swap the necks and then sell the 570.

Yep....that's what I was thinking too.

Although I've been finding 750's a LOT lately, and they've all been sub-$300.
Maybe that's the way to go....He'll get the right pups at the same time.

Re: NGD : More DYR is better !

haha ! lots of good ideas here !
But, for the moment, I only plan to swap the Pickguard/PU set to see how a F2 in the neck position sounds

I own a F4 but it's blue ! it doesn't fit in here

funny detail : the 2 DYR come from Italy

Honestly, it looks awesome the way it is too.......I like the "brother/sister" set.

Apparently those Italians know how to take care of their guitars.

When you said ridiculous price....did you mean high or low??

What is 'DYR'? Dessert Yellow?

Any ideas why Ibanez made so many RGs WITHOUT matching headstock over the last 15 years or so? I just don't get it. Do some actually think guitars look better with a non-matching headstock? Or from a production standpoint, do they do it to cut costs? (i.e. produce a plain black headstock neck to put on more models?)

Ok, thanks. So when it's referred to as 'DY' or 'DYE', that's implying maple then? (I never noticed the 'DYR' variation before now.)

These guitars are AANJ. A 750 would be a square heel. That said, a square heel RG550 with a 700 Series neck and F-Series pickups would be awesome!
