Today, after many years of no NGDs, I have purchased another guitar!
I've been keen on entering the world of the "electronic guitar," so after perusing the web and the bay, I found a fellow nearby who had an interesting item for sale. Sorry in advance for the poor picture qualities. I just used my iPhone.
This is a Roland G808, manufactured by Greco Guitars in Japan in 1983. This would make it a sort of "cousin" to my other guitar, my RG3250. Considering the age, I think she looks pretty good! The previous owner tells me he got it from a studio ~10 years ago; it was a case queen then, and it was for him as well. It won't be for me!
Walnut top & back, ash body, maple/mahogany Neck Thru construction, gold hardware,
(Above is from previous owner. He took better pics than I did!)
Also pictured is the GR300 guitar synth. It uses a proprietary 24-pin connector cable. I managed to get mine with the guitar and synth; I've been told they are expensive and becoming harder to find. I've only played around with them for a few hours, but I can't put it down! It's too much fun, and the guitar feels perfect in my hands, like a long lost friend. Also, check out that crazy 80's pink case lining!
The two of them together.
I feel blessed.
