NGD - Prestige RG2570mz cab

Good day all, I actually got this guitar months ago but between moving to a new house and getting the guitar into the shop to have all the changes made that I wanted it's taken awhile to post the NGD.

Anyhoo, I walked into the music store and saw this guitar - it was used but in mint condition and it was only $799, which seemed too good to pass up since new MIJ RG's go for almost twice that (e.g. 3550z was $1,399 in the same store).

I changed the pups to PAF 36th anniversary in the bridge and neck and an area '67 in the middle. I had the pots changed out because the volume pot did not have a nice taper (same with my RG2550z - I don't think they put very good pots in new Ibanez guitars) and I had numbered knobs put on it because I use the volume knob a lot and I like to be able to see where it's at when I look down.

All in all I am really happy with this guitar - it plays great (big fan of maple) and it's nice to have another EZ bridge (love 'em)...I also really love the finish on this guitar. I think this guitar is going to become my main player =)

Great looking guitar you've got I'll let you in on a secret my CAB is my favorite too. It's a shame we don't get more of those maple boards, they're quite something with the binding and ghost sharktooth.

And 799 that's a steal!

How do you like the pickups? Did you achieve what you wanted with em?

Congrats on a great guitar!

The CAB really is a great guitar - I've got 5 MIJ Ibanez guitars and the CAB seems like the perfect blend of everything I wanted in an Ibanez...so happy I got it!

I like the paf 36th pickups alot...not too hot but hotter than a standard paf. I think the neck pup is my fave overall neck pup out of all the ones I've tried and I've tried quite a few. The bridge pup is nice too - I think it's a bit darker than the Duncan JB (still my fave bridge pup) but overall I think the paf 36th pups are a great set!

Great score Ron. Was wondering when you'd get pics of her up.
Truly is a beauty. LOVE the finish on that.
