NGD - RG1451

About a week late but took me a while to down size the pictures..

Found this Prestige RG1451 at our local Long & Mcquade sitting on a rack of used guitars and it was pretty cheaply priced.... I sat down to play it an the neck is just sweet to play on, I picked it up 2 days later.

The pick-ups are the Ibanez standard, play well.. nothing special but get the job done, the tight end bridge is pretty cool and the neck is awesome. I'm not much of a pick guard guy but i can get used to it no problem. Added some swirl knobs to add some contrast.

And a picture of the small RG family

Re: NGD - RG1451

Nice! They had one at the local Sam Ash for $600 in night crow but it was gone by the time I had the scratch together. Got the RG921 instead. The RG1451 is still pretty bad ass. I wish Ibanez would put out something like it again.
Enjoy!

Re: NGD - RG1451

The Wizard HP prestige neck is pretty close to the Super wizard on my RG570, just unfinished.... it's just awesome to play.

Re: NGD - RG1451

Pics are small but looks nice a nice score - congrats! I love the Prestige models - my Ibanez Prestige guitars play nicer than the Jem I had. Sometimes L & M have some good deals on used gear...and they take just about anything on trade in.

BTW - I'm not far from you - I live in the Walnut Grove / Fort Langley area =)

Sweet... just across the river.

I just happened to be grabbing a new set of string for my 570 and saw it there.... they threw in a gig bag and a set of strings (since I needed 2 sets now).

Re: NGD - RG1451

nice =) I guess if you're in Mission you go the Abby L & M or maybe the PoCo location? There are a few Jemsiters in the lower mainland - sold my Jem to experiate in Vancouver - totally nice guy - and Stealthtastic...was going to meet Stealth at the guitar show in Vancouver last fall but we missed each other.

When did you get the 570? It's hard o tell from the photos but I saw a 570 like yours on CL no too long ago...looks like nice guitar!

Re: NGD - RG1451

Yea... I picked it off Craigslist a couple years ago. The guy said I sent a message a couple hours after he posted it. He had it up for $400 and when I got in in my hands... I didn't barter, gave him the cash and it was mine. The Super Wizard neck is sweet.. I ended up putting a set of JP Dimarzios in it last year and it just screams.

I was hoping to hit the Vancouver Guitar show this year but I haven't heard a date. My buddies were the host band OmnisighT last year..

Re: NGD - RG1451

Added a black chrome pick guard this weekend, gives it a more RG2550 look..... and a Tone Zone/Air Norton combo, for a more traditional Prestige sound.

Re: NGD - RG1451

That looks fantastic! I own a 2550zgk and as soon as I saw your pic it reminded me of the 2550 - great looking guitar! It must sound great with the new pups.

BTW - I saw OmnisighT at the guitar show last year and they were great!!! Stupid guitar show organizers had them on after the shred-off so almost everyone was gone by the time OmnisighT played - I was talking to the singer / guitar player and he wasn't very happy with how it was organized but they played a really great set - even if it was only for about a dozen people..

Re: NGD - RG1451

this one is a little lower than what I am used to, the RG570 has the original edge.... but it doesn't take long to get used to. It's easy to adjust if needed but it was nicely set up when I got it when I bought it.

Re: NGD - RG1451

Hi!

Where did you find that pickguard? I also have a White RG1451 and am planning to swap the pickguard - did it fit right on?

Re: NGD - RG1451

I was looking for that colour because I love the look of the RG2550. I found this on Ebay for $25 with the switches and pots from a 2550.

There is a ton of different designs which would fit.
