NGD!!! RG1XXVFY

Yummy!!! Loved that colour! Don't quite dig the trem, but it's usable enough. Considering a Edge Zero 1. Pickups were nicer than I expected... Pots need replacing for sure...

Have also ordered a set of gravity storms in yellow with an Evo middle as a replacement trial. Can't wait to receive them and put them in!

Re: NGD!!! RG1XXVFY

congrats!

I've been wondering how much a difference American basswood would make from regular 'prestige' basswood...

That looks fantastic. If they had a version with a maple board I'd be all over it

Why? Do they just not work well? What is the difference between pots?

I'd imagine they probably take more effort to turn than needed. That's how the stock alpha pots were on my SZ720 before I switched them out for dimarzio pots which seem effortless by comparison.

Well, the roll-off is not as useful as I'd like. I'd prefer something more usable in terms of audio taper character.

I have to agree here....I find this with most Ibanez volume pots..... They don't have a wide smooth fade.....

I compared them in-store. It's way brighter. So bright that when you stare at it long enough, you get weird vision! And a headache!

So using another brand of pot gives different tonal characteristics?

That makes sense why you'd want to change them, then.

I don't know how this stuff works.

Re: NGD!!! RG1XXVFY

I wouldn't say tonal characteristics, but the behaviour of the pot is different, resulting in different ranges of the tone palette.
