NGD: RG20063 Puzzle

I have always liked these thing and saw one come up at an affordable price so I grabbed it. The over/under on how long it stays around depends on the buying public. The wife kind of freaked out and it will be sold to pay back how I bought it.

Its a 06 Ibanez RG20063 Puzzle top. Very nicely done, just a shade of play wear with no large dings or bumps, just some little bruises. Frets look good with light fret wear. After moving around the bridge around a bit, it play nicely!!! Sounds different too with the Mahogany body.

It's illegal to trade on inside information! I think RGT gets the chicken dinner

Man, that's way to pretty to sell. If you like playing it enough, why don't you sell something else?

BTW..... I'm over chicken, but I NEVER refuse a nice porterhouse!!!!!

Very nice. Are their grooves where the 'pieces' fit together or is it just the way the finish looks?

Shoes would work for me!
Of course, I'd let him keep the guitar if I were his wife......as long as I could play it when I wanted to.

As long as it wasn't the rent money he used to buy it.
Then I'd kill him. LOL

LOL I was (sort of) joking when I brought that up but I didn't think that the under call would be 1 day!

Re: NGD: RG20063 Puzzle

It plays nicely, needs a setup as the EP is not sitting level and it sound so different. Real tough sounding. Good definition in notes with a growl.

Yes, my understanding is that there are individual pieces glued together. You can feel the ridges. All natural wood feel though which is nice.

The wife might go easy on me this week because i am putting my cat down today.

If you look closely at the pieces, they were cut from a single piece.
Notice the flame maple pieces and how the grains match from top to bottom.
Same piece of maple for one guitar. Same with the dark wood.
I don't think each piece was individually glued to the body, rather the pieces were all glued together into a veneer, then dropped onto the body as an assembly.

I've been researching this and with the help of some members here have come up with a method to do this. Not that hard, but very time consuming.

I will have more on this Spring of 2014.
If it pans out, the options are limitless.
