NGD: RG465M Soda Blue

I finally got around to taking some pics:

The first picture gives a good idea of the brightness of the paint...The guitar is very nice, there is a run on the back that has been clear coated over so you can't feel it but it is noticeable. The action is currently at at 5mm or so, definitely need to get that lowered.

The Ibanez logo on the headstock is chrome!

Nice!!! Looks pretty! The "chrome" logo is like on my RG350M.

I just noticed that the 1/4 plug is kinda similar to the one on my RG550 but not recessed into the body.

How does it sound?

I don't think I'm gonna be able to play it today, I've given up trying to set up the trem for now. The strings that came with fitted are corroded, the stamp date on the QC ticket is almost 3 months old so they've probably been sitting in the cold for all that time...I'll replace the strings tomorrow but I'm tired now. I hate setting up Floyds for the first time, nightmare

That's a nice guitar. I would had gone with the blue one too.

I am picky about the grain pattern on the fretboard and this looks pretty good.

Remember to pull out the trem when adjusting the height on the edge iii. The knife edges wear faster on these.

Man, I want one of those, love that color, just wish it had an original edge though.

Re: NGD: RG465M Soda Blue

Boombatty, it cost £450 which is around £100 more than an RG350M but I'm a sucker for limited runs. I got an interest-free loan from the 'Arts Council' in a scheme to help more young people get into music, I pay them £11 per week for the guitar

The price difference covers for the genuine Dimarzios...

It plays very well now I've got it set up and fitted with EB slinkies...I don't have an amp yet though, I'm getting one at the end of the week. I haven't had an electric guitar for a year or so and I've been playing my acoustic all that time. I've ordered a Peavey Vypyr.

Good to hear! What Vypyr model did you order? I really like the mini head+stack one.

Re: NGD: RG465M Soda Blue

Only a 15w, I don't play live and my bedroom is up against the bedroom of the old lady next door so I can't make too much noise. I think I'm going to resume lessons again soon and the 15w has the added advantage of being easily transported, I've heard very good things about the Vypyr series

The last amp I had was a Laney VC15, which was excellent but not really suited to an RG (I had a Fender Jaguar at the time) and a Line 6 Spider, which I did not like at all.
