NGD!!! RG652AHMFXNGB

Woo, haven't bought a new guitar since 2008. This one comes courtesy of Rich. Thanks again, I've been playing it nonstop. I absolutely love this guitar. Rich's customer service is ridiculous. I couldn't believe how fast he answered all of my emails. Without further ado, here it is.

That's a beautiful guitar! I've been considering one myself. Have you noticed anything different about its sound with the ash body and maple neck? I'm looking for a guitar with a really tight punchy low end and thought this one might fit the bill.

Re: NGD!!! RG652AHMFXNGB

There are so many factors that go into a guitar's sound, it's hard to know how much the wood itself is making a difference. This is a very different guitar than my others. This is my first fixed bridge, and I've yet to use this pickup configuration. That being said, it does have a tight low end but is brighter sounding than my other guitars. I like the sound of the Tone Zone but need to play it more to really know how I feel. My favorite pickups so far are the X2N and Super 3. If you're trying to fine tune your sound, you might want to try out some different pickups or even invest in some eq equipment. A rack mount 31 band eq will do amazing things for your sound and are fairly cheap.

But, how does it sound thru the tiny Marshall on the floor?

Please let us know what you think after you've had some more time with it.

I changed the strings on my S1220 today and every time I have to do that it makes me want a fixed bridge pretty bad. I still have no fast way of setting up a floating trem. Seems like it's always a 2-3 hour process. Floating trem is a lot of effort for the few little tricks I can do with it.

Anyhow, congrats on the guitar!

Amazing, of course. It's all tube, analog, true bypass, insert buzz word here, etc...

Frankhenrylee, you just need some more practice with the floating trem. Once you understand how it works, it'll take maybe 10 minutes. It can be very frustrating figuring it out, but you'll get it. I only got the fixed bridge to make it easier to switch between different tunings.
