Talking NGD: RG652FX & RG2550Z

I've just made two additions to my collection. Both brand new - a first since the budget Cort strat I got as a teenager. I managed to get a good combined price for them, as they'd been hanging around in the store unsold for a long time (one was manufactured in 2008!). I now have an Ibanez for each of the five tunings that I use routinely.

RG652FX in Galaxy Black:
I'd intended to buy a fixed bridge model when I made my last purchase, but found much better deals going on tremolo models (I guess because there's so many more of them about). It's my first with a Super Wizard neck - I've already fallen in love with it.

RG2550Z in Galaxy White:
I already had one in Galaxy Black, so this felt instantly at home in my hands. It wouldn't have been my first choice of finish, but it's growing on me.

I've just put up a new wall-mount to display all of my Ibbys together (Swing String slatwall, if anyone is interested).

Re: NGD: RG652FX & RG2550Z

Happy NGD ! Beautiful guitars !

I bought the RG3770FZ-TB (late 2017 production) that this shop in Spain had in stock (very nice seller) last week, I will maybe buy another guitar from them soon before they sell out !

As you know, this store in Pontevedra recently cleared a huge stock of discontinued older MIJ guitars at quite decent prices.

The post-covid era is a great time to buy some guitars at great prices : Since the COVID crisis some European sellers cleared the very old unsold models from their inventory ! I bought a brand new RG550EX from a famous physical store in Bergamo (Italy) at a ridiculously low price a few weeks ago when shops started to open again. The guitar spent 18 years in its box, the strings installed at the Fujigen factory were 100% rusted, so was the tremolo arm (Ibanez cardboard boxes are definitely not a good solution for long term guitar storage...)

On the other hand, the newer models (I am specifically thinking about the 5000 series) also start to be heavily discounted in Europe.

The 5120m and 5320 are regularly sold with a 400€ rebate in big European stores : 1600€ instead of 2000€. So I also bought a 5120m last week. It took almost a week for Hoshino Europe to send it from their warehouse in Holland to the warehouse of the store from which I bought the 5120m in France (Sonovente), but it should be delivered to me tomorrow.

I didn't dislike it, but I'd never even considered buying a white guitar before. As I said, it's growing on me...no regrets

Re: NGD: RG652FX & RG2550Z

Croquette, yes that's the store Good customer service, so I'd definitely recommend them / use them again.

I was tempted by their RG655, but was set on the fixed bridge RG652-GK and decided three black RGs would be a bit boring...so sent with the white RG2550Z. Unlike most people around here, I actually like the Edge Zero.

I was also tempted by the S6570Q-NBL, but my budget could only stretch to the two RGs or the one much more expensive S...easy choice in the end. If (more like when) I buy another guitar, it will probably be another S. Have to say I prefer some of the older more natural finishes that the Prestige line used to have (like my swirled ebony top). If I'd seen an S5520K or S6UC going for a decent price, I wouldn't have been able to help myself.
