Re: NGD - RG750!!

3 ply pickguard

The guy even threw in the hard case for the price too, which would have easily cost me another 40-50!

Comments welcome!

sadly not got an amp here on base at the mo (to be rectified in a few weeks), so you'll have to wait for that verdict!

but it is indeed a C2 in the middle!

and going off Ibanez Wiki, the f2-c2-f2 combo indicates that its earlier than 1991, but im guessing its just one of those 'anomalies'?!

Re: NGD - RG750!!

Very nice. One of the top guitars in '91 next to a Jem. It will clean up nice with a little elbow grease. The F series pickups are better than anything you can buy. Enjoy! Great score.

Re: NGD - RG750!!

gotta ask, besides the inlays and the pickups, is there any difference between that and the 550's???

I've got a 750 as well, been one of the only Ibbys I've held on to. Nice score!

Not many, but the electronics are upgraded as well....The 7xx's got the VLX-91 switch (Jem multi-pole) while the 5xx's got the YM-50 (standard 5-way)

The 7xx's also have bound rosewood necks and the US market guitars all got the Bensalem or Hollywood neckplate (depending on the year)

Your alignment looks ok as far as the pickguard goes....... The pup looks like its standard spaced AND pushed a little to the high E side.... you should be able to push it back to "center" pretty easily.

You wont notice any difference in the standard spacing that you have and the F-spacing usually seen on RG's...... I wouldn't worry about it at all.....

Re: NGD - RG750!!

Not sure why the pickup poles are off. Set-up maybe or problem with trem posts. All the older IBZUSA pickups are F-spaced. That is from the tech at Dimarzio. I checked into ordering some new ones.
