As I'm a new member to the club thought I'd show you my latest addition.
I hadn't bought a guitar in 10 years but I couldn't resist when I found an 'old' gem. Pics below:
Picked up this 2005 Ibby RGA321F. It's still is good condition, bit of wear and tear, but nothing too major. Still looks gorgeous and that flame maple cap!! They don't make them like they used to. No whammy bar though.
Itís different from other Ibanez models Iíve played/owned (RG1570, JS1200) The mahogany maple combo just creates these really sharp bright highs, a Tried and tested wood combo and It works. Iím digging the clean tones at present, letís just say they are not airy or bland! Especially with the switch at 4th position and it just brings a whole sonic variation to the pickups. Speaking of which The bridge pickup can get slightly muddy on the lower strings when pushing the gain but nothing thatís a deal breaker.
I have a feeling that the neck is slightly thicker too then the usual wizards but need to confirm, could be wrong.
The Gibraltar plus bridge is lovely. Probably the best fixed bridge Iíve used. Action is extremely low and very comfortable.
What I like about it is that itís different. Itís not your usual RG. If the RG550 is a T800 then this is the T1000 (lame Terminator reference).
Shame they discontinued these. It oozes quality. Would be amazing if they added something like a SynchroniZR trem to this model. Bet they would give those AZ models a run for their money.
