NGD:rgr465m tremelo frustration HELP

Hi guys, Today I got an rgr465m that I received from Bensalem in exchange for a bad mbm2. Love the guitar-the action and sound is incredible.Anyways, I just can't seem to get the thing in tune for a second. I haven't had a tremelo guitar in some time so I guess I'm a noob in that regard. I read megatron's guide and I can get it close but not all the way in tune. When I use the fine tuners do I still need to tune all the strings sharp/flat like before? Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated-it's an edge 3(I know). I really don't want to have to block it.thanks for your help. will post some pics of it later.

Re: NGD:rgr465m tremelo frustration HELP

well as you said, its an edge III so thats a contributing factor. but in all seriousness, its probably how its set. and tuning takes a looooooooong time on a trem. you tune the low E sharp and the high goes flat. its all about balance and you have to tune it a tiny bit at a time until your there. what i do is a little different but it seams to be working out. what i do is get all the strings in tune WITH EACHOTHER (this does NOT mean theyre tuned. its just that theyre all out of tune the same way) and then work my way up, keeping every string tuned with the rest and eventually theyll all be in tune and you wont have 5 in tune and one a whole step flat.

im not always very clear so did that make any sense?

Re: NGD:rgr465m tremelo frustration HELP

I played an RG465M and reviewed it a couple of months ago, and I found the Edge III to be quite reasonable new. If you are having difficulty setting it up right (check the guides at for pointers) maybe get a tech to help you out.

When you've got the cash get a Gotoh licensed Floyd Rose for then.
