So, I wanted a mahogany guitar, and have a had a few Artists and Hamers and decided to go with a Les Paul. But I am not a fan of Gibson's recent quality so I found a nice recent Tokai on Ishibashi and pulled the trigger. It's an HLS, not an LS, so it is made by Hibiki and is more like a '59 burst in measurements than a modern Gibson.

It's from a small batch run in '15, so it has the '80-'81 "Reborn Old" headstock decal, is lightweight (8 pounds even), no pickup covers and pickguard in the case. Plays amazingly, sounds just as good as well. Blows away my buddy's G0

peromucho7 and FireEagle like this.

Thats a gorgeous LP style guitar man. I have a epiphone LP standard. It's made in Indonesia. I was pretty impressed with it for being $425. Yours however looks like a higher quality finish. What's the fret board made of? It looks pretty bright to be rosewood.

Re: NGD: Tokai HLS-LW

the fretboard is Madagascar rosewood, and it is crazy light in color.
