NGD: We have a winner!(and something else, too)

So here's the story. I order a guitar from a local shop for them to get it in from Ibanez, supposedly it was coming by the end of the week.

Then Ibanez sent the wrong guitar to the shop(a goddamn RG2228 ), so they said it would take another 2 weeks to get the wrong guitar back to Japan, and the correct one to the shop.

Then they didn't have the guitar in stock, so they added another month wait.

THEN Ibanez decided "Nope, you're waiting until June."(It was early March at the time)

So I said "screw it, I'm going with Rich". So then I ordered it from Rich.

Then I went on vacation with my parents to their condo in Florida, and I had some money to mess around with, so I went to a local store and found/bought this:

A Washburn WG587v(the 7-string version of the same Washburn I had gotten/fallen in love with/returned previously). The neck is AMAZINGLY thin, even thinner than a Wizard neck

The original guitar that I ordered from Rich arrived as soon as I landed in Florida

Today I woke up at 4AM to get on my flight back home(unfortunately I had to leave the Washburn at the condo due to lack of case), and I saw the box I had been waiting for at my door.

I had some trouble opening the box though, I didnt take any pics of that part.

OK, that's enough teaser pics.

I chose...

The RGD2127z
God this thing is sexy.

Now I just need a strap, and some new pups.

Also, Check out the Washburn's serial No.

METAAALLLLL!

sexy!!!!! know what would be awesome? white d-activators in the washburn and white SD blackouts (they would have to be painted but it would be well worth it!!) in the 2127. im seriously jealous and have been GASing for one of those for a while

I was actually planning on having a white evo7/AN7 replacing the current pups along with a white clip lock strap on the 2127

Unfortunately, I probably won't be doing any mods on the washburn considering that I barely have enough time to play it while I'm in florida, much less mod it. But I completely agree, white d-activators would be awesome with that color.

Yeah, at my parent's condo. I wish I could have brought it home, but I can't without any case.

If I'm going to bring it back home, it'll be in about 2 years once the rent is up.

Re: NGD: We have a winner!(and something else, too)

congrats on the RGD... been anticipating your choice from your other thread... good decision - such a sick axe

as for pup upgrades, I can tell ya as a fellow RGD owner that whatever pups you get, you *might* end up routing those tight pickup cavities or 'trim the pickups' themselves.
I've tried installing a LF7/CL7 combo but realized the pups 'wax base' was larger than the route... luckily, i had a different pup that worked in Ab and was a better fit w/o routing wood

I'll definitely cut up my pups if they don't fit, anything to get rid of those stock ones.

The 2127z is phenomenal - I have one also. I owned a 2228 for a while and I'm still kicking myself for selling it.

So jealous. If I could have any 7 string without paying the price it would be one of these or a custom hufschmid or blackmachine. HNGD man! Thats one sick guitar.
